Meets: Monthly and weekly (see below)
Biblical manhood is under attack in our culture. The God-given role of a man’s spiritual leadership in the home has been villainized, and the challenge is only exacerbated by the tidal wave of temptation and distraction men face in our world today. As a result, countless men have abdicated their joyful duty to the decline of the family.
In other words, the battle for men to follow Christ, lead their families, and pursue holiness is real. Now more than ever, men need the sanctifying grace of God ministered through His word.
The Men’s Ministry at Berean Bible Church has as its passionate pursuit that of the apostle Paul in Colossians 1:28—“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.”
Men of God today do not need gimmicks or simple life tips, but Christ Himself—to see the ultimate Man preached, taught, and modeled so that they may learn to grow up into the image of Christ by the power of the Spirit. Such a pursuit however is not meant to be done alone. 2 Timothy 2:22 calls us to “flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” Men especially must heed this call to support one another in the race of faith and sharpen one another, as iron sharpens iron.
It is here that our Men’s Ministry intersects with our Growth Groups. In Growth Groups, men connect with other men for Bible study, meaningful fellowship, true accountability, and prayer. This is the place for godly friendships to form and for discipleship to be lived out.
In addition, the Men’s Ministry features regular events—such as breakfasts, sports events, and retreats—designed to equip men for biblical manhood as well as foster discipleship and fellowship among the men.
